Lydia Bryngelsson

Lydia Bryngelsson is a German-American freelance opera singer based in Oslo, Norway. She was born in New Brunswick, New Jersey, USA. Her family moved to Germany when she was six years old. As a child, she obtained her first stage experience in operas at Theater Trier, including the role of Bilke in Fiddler on the Roof, and supernumerary roles in operas such as Eugene Onegin and Ernani, where she appeared alongside her father, bass James Moellenhoff. She received her first voice lessons from her mother, and in 2001, was awarded a first place in the competition Jugend musiziert.

Among recent engagements: performance in the role of Funiculà in Opera on the timetable in Oslo, in an opera gala at the concert hall in Stavanger together with Opera Rogaland, as alto soloist in Handel’s Dixit Dominus in Oslo Cathedral and as Second Lady in Trollflöjten at Oslo Opera.
