VIKTOR JOHANSSON TENOR BIOGRAPHY

Viktor Johansson is a young and very promising lyric tenor from Sweden. He graduates in the spring 2019 from the Academy of Music and Opera at Mälardalen University where he has studied Chamber Opera (2016-2019) and B Mus Vocal studies in the Chamber Music Programme (2012-2016). His vocal teacher has been Professor Lena Hellström-Färnlöf. Before that he studied singing at Härnösands Pre-College for three years.

Spring 2019 Viktor sings the title role in Mozart’s opera Idomeneo at Västmanlands Theatre (exams production). During his studies at Mälardalen University he has also participated in a newly written opera “Riddartornet” by Unander-Scharin, in several concerts in Västerås Concert hall with roles such as Tamino, Lensky, Don Ottavio, Eisenstein, Remendado and Des Grieux in Manon (excerpts).

Viktor has been a soloist several times in Västerås Cathedral and his concert repertoire includes Mozart’s Requiem and C-minor Mass, Bach’s St John Passion, Händel’s Messiah, Britten’s The Company of Heaven, Chilcott’s St John Passion and Requiem, Schumann’s Dichterliebe, Op. 48 and St Luke Passion by C PH E Bach.

Viktor’s opera repertoire today includes Don Ottavio and he studies the whole parts Tamino, Lensky, Nemorino, Remendado, Gastone and Borsa (Rigoletto).

Viktor has participated in Master classes and coaching sessions with: Prof. Lena Hellström-Färnlöf, Prof. Olivier Godin, Alexander Niklasson, Bengt-Åke Lundin, Magnus Svensson, Nils Spangenberg, Audrey Hyland, Nanette Nowels-Stenholm, Staffan Sandström, Clara Swärd, Dmitry Tyapkin, Olle Persson, Torbjörn Lillieqvist and Mandy Demetriou.

He received Carlsbrödrastipendiet in 2019 and Frimurarnas (The Freemasons) Musikstipendium i Göteborg.
